Description

Lenny and his wife Amanda adopt a baby whom Lenny quickly recognizes as a genius. He decides to find the child's biological mother, hoping that she will also be an exceptional personality. This goal leads him on a quest to understand his son's roots and the origins of his talents. Lenny's attention focuses on a mysterious woman whose life is still unknown. The search reveals that Max's mother is Linda Ash – a kind-hearted prostitute and porn star. This news creates an internal conflict for Lenny as he decides to change her lifestyle and free her from an immoral environment. However, Linda is not willing to easily give in to change, and Lenny faces obstacles that raise questions about morality, family, and personal choices. This confrontation creates tension and comedic situations. This unusual comedy, directed by Woody Allen, employs Greek chorus commentary that connects the plot to Greek mythology. Mira Sorvino plays Linda Ash, while Helena Bonham Carter plays Amanda. The film combines elements of romance and comedy, exploring themes of family, identity, and social stereotypes. Woody Allen's direction gives the work a unique style, while the ensemble cast enriches the story with poignant humor and character dynamics.
