Forgotten Island (2026) – two friends fight for memories on a magical island

Description

Two friends, Jo and Raissa, who have just graduated from school, are preparing to part ways and go down different paths in life. Their last night together changes when they discover a mysterious portal that transports them to the magical Nakali Island, where mythical and magical creatures live, as told in stories by their Filipino families. On Nakali Island, the friends are greeted by various creatures – some become allies, while others turn into foes. With Raww, a well-meaning but clumsy wolfdog assistant, and a tiny but brave group of friends, they face the island's most dangerous inhabitant – the Manananggal. They discover that in order to return home, they must sacrifice their memories of friendship, so they rush to find a way to leave the island before they lose each other's memories. This animated adventure and fantasy comedy, directed by Januel Mercado and Joel Crawford, immerses viewers in a family-friendly world where magical beings and mythological figures intertwine with the challenges of friendship. H.E.R. and Liza Soberano voice the main characters, while Dave Franco, Jenny Slate, and Manny Jacinto enrich the character gallery, bringing vitality and humor to the film.
