Description
In the fall of 1991, in New York, renowned war correspondent Harrison Lloyd prepares for his final mission – to go to Yugoslavia, where local unrest is beginning. He plans to give up war photography and return to his family, promising his wife Sara that he will be back by their son's birthday. However, his journey into the war zone becomes fateful. Harrison goes missing in northern Croatia, and he is officially declared dead. Sara does not give in to this version and believes that her husband is still alive. Despite the horrors and dangers of war, she is determined to travel to the former Yugoslavia, now a war-ravaged territory, to find Harrison and rescue him. Her journey becomes not only a search but also a confrontation with the realities of war and the dangers that threaten her life. Directed by Élie Chouraqui, the film intertwines elements of war, drama, and romance. Andie MacDowell plays Sara Lloyd, who fights for her husband's life, while David Strathairn portrays the missing photojournalist. The film reflects the context of the Balkan War in the early 1990s and the risks of journalism when personal relationships intertwine with global conflicts. The cast also includes Elias Koteas, Brendan Gleeson, and Adrien Brody, who enrich the dramatic narrative and add depth to the theme of war.
