Y2K (2024) – A Night Before the Millennium Change with Dangerous Electronic Anomalies

Description

On the last night of 1999, friends Eli and Danny have no plan for how to spend New Year's Eve. Eli is particularly eager to kiss his crush, Laura, at midnight. Upon learning that Laura will be attending Soccer Chris's party, they decide to join the celebration, hoping that this night will be pivotal for their relationship and feelings. The anticipation of the evening is filled with hope and excitement. The party takes an unexpected turn: at midnight, when Laura and Chris share a kiss, the power suddenly goes out. A shocking death occurs, and all electronics—from toy cars to microwaves—begin to pose a threat. This disruption causes chaos and forces the attendees to fight for survival as technology turns into a menacing trap. The events of the night intertwine elements of science fiction, horror, and comedy, directed by Kyle Mooney. Jaeden Martell plays Eli, Rachel Zegler plays Laura, and Julian Dennison plays Danny. This film captures the tense atmosphere of the last night of the 20th century, where friendship and survival confront the unpredictable consequences of technology.
