Description
In the American and Mexican border zone, wealthy landowner Frank Harlan seeks to expand his holdings by arbitrarily annexing neighboring Mexican lands. At the same time, the courthouse, which housed the land ownership documents, burns down, causing the Mexicans to lose official proof of their land rights. This creates tension between the communities. Mexican leader Luis Chama urges his community to fight for the lost lands, while Frank Harlan, wanting to implement his plans, hires mercenaries, including gunslinger Joe Kidd, to stop Chama's actions. This conflict between the wealthy owner and the fighters for justice creates a dangerous situation in the border region, where different interests collide. The action takes place in the context of a Western drama directed by John Sturges. The main roles are played by Clint Eastwood as Joe Kidd, Robert Duvall as Frank Harlan, and John Saxon as Luis Chama. This work reveals the tense struggle for land rights and the rule of law in the border zone, where each character's choices determine the course of the conflict.
