In a remote rural area, a sick mother lives with her son, who takes care of her every day. Their only connection to the outside world is the distant smoke signal of a locomotive, symbolizing hope and waiting. However, their tranquility is disrupted by the progression of the mother's illness and the relentless silence of the surroundings. The mother suffers from severe pain and asks her son if there is anything above, but he replies that there is nothing.
