Description

A little orphan named Pete runs away from the Googan family, who wants to bring him back at any cost. He finds refuge in a small fishing town in Maine, where he befriends an invisible friend – a friendly, sometimes mischievous dragon named Elliot. Pete's goal is to stay safe and find a new warmth of home together with Elliot and new friends, including the lighthouse keeper Nora. However, their peace is disrupted by unexpected obstacles: Elliot's antics cause chaos in school classrooms, and deceitful sellers seek to capture the dragon for their own gain. Pete and Elliot's friendship is put to the test as they must overcome external dangers and preserve their freedom. In this conflict, Pete's desire to be safe clashes with the Googan family's and the malicious sellers' aim to reclaim him or exploit the dragon. "Pete's Dragon" is a fantasy family comedy directed by Don Chaffey, blending adventure and magic. The film stars Sean Marshall as Pete, Helen Reddy as Nora, along with Jim Dale, Mickey Rooney, and Red Buttons. Animated elements and bright humor highlight the themes of friendship and courage conveyed by this 1977 work for children and the whole family.
