Description

Sculptor Paul unexpectedly meets his first love Valérie and her 16-year-old daughter Laura, a ballerina whose beauty and grace remind him of her mother. Paul immediately feels a strong connection with Laura, who also becomes romantically infatuated with him. This encounter inspires Paul to create a sculpture dedicated to Laura, capturing her charm and youth. Valérie agrees to let Paul create the sculpture using only photographs as references, rather than working directly with Laura. This condition limits Paul's ability to get to know Laura directly through the creative process. Nevertheless, a certain event allows Paul to complete the sculpture, which becomes an important work of art and a symbol of his connection with Laura, reflecting the subtlety of their relationship. The 1979 drama-romance "Laura, les ombres de l'été" is directed by David Hamilton, featuring James Mitchell as Paul and Dawn Dunlap as Laura. The film explores the process of creating art and the relationship between the sculptor and the young ballerina, emphasizing their communication through creativity and delicate emotions. The work stands out for its dramatic and romantic genre blend.
